A shocking altercation in Umugbabe Ovoko, a community in Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area of Enugu State, has left residents stunned after a woman allegedly attacked her landlord with a pestle, striking him on the head. The news was first reported by Enugu-based media personality Chijinkem Ugwuanyi in a Facebook post on Friday, January 31, 2025. According to Ugwuanyi, the confrontation began when the landlord, a young orphaned man, asked the woman to vacate the property. Instead of complying, the woman reportedly reacted with aggression, allegedly assaulting him with a pestle—a heavy wooden tool traditionally used for pounding food in Nigerian households.

The woman and her two kids are currently enjoying the weather at Ibagwa, aka police station. This boy is an orphan, and he only allowed the woman to live with him because he was the only one in the big house,” he wrote.
