Nigeria’s Super Falcons Maintain Africa’s Top Spot in Latest FIFA Rankings
Nigeria’s Super Falcons have once again solidified their dominance in African women’s football, maintaining their position as the highest-ranked team on the continent in the latest FIFA Women’s Rankings released on Thursday.
Despite stiff competition from rivals like South Africa and Ghana, the Super Falcons held firm at 36th place globally, reaffirming their status as Africa’s best women’s national team.
Nigeria Stays Ahead of the Pack
South Africa’s Banyana Banyana, who recently dropped one spot in the global rankings, now sit at 54th place, making them Africa’s second-best team. Meanwhile, Morocco has climbed to 60th place, surpassing Ghana, who now ranks 65th worldwide. Zambia, despite a slight drop, completes Africa’s top five at 64th place.

Global Rankings: USA Holds No. 1 Spot
On the global stage, the United States continues to reign as the world’s top-ranked women’s team, followed closely by reigning World Cup champions Spain in second place. Germany, England, and Japan round out the top five, with Japan making a notable leap of three spots.
